Jackson got to open his presents throughout the day... he LOVED it!
Of course, he chose the biggest present first, which was an aircraft carrier from G&G Breshears.
We just love this little boy! He is the light of our lives. Jackson has such a tender heart and is actually very shy initially. He is a smart kid, who learns quickly and has a great memory (sometimes that works against me... for example, he always remembers when I promise him a treat). Another example: he has been learning about agency in Primary. We were so impressed with his ability to recall the story of the war in heaven and the idea that we get to choose our actions, but not the consequences that result from those choices.
And he opened his present from his cousins, Maddie, Chloe & Sam... more games for his leap pad
As you can see, all three kids were excited about Jackson's birthday!
As usual Daddy was right there with Jackson and his new toys, learning how everything worked. He is the best playmate!
It was so nice outside, so we went out to play with Jackson's new toys, ride on the 4-wheeler, jump on the trampoline, and do a little pruning on our fruit trees. A little cold, but beautiful!!

Another hit! We have never spread out the present-opening throughout the day, but it was a blast. He got plenty of time to play with one present and then was just as excited to open the next one and focus only on that one for a while. Especially with his birthday falling on a holiday, it was perfect. We have always had his birthday party the weekend after his birthday so that his friends were available... which we did again this year.
Finally, Jackson opened his present from us... last year, he asked for a RC car. We got him a cheap one that promptly stopped working. We replaced it with another cheap one. Same thing. This year we decided to buy a "good one" and found a steal. The quality makes all the difference and he LOVES it! (And they're not kidding when they say it crawls... it almost crawled up the side of the couch!)
That evening some of our friends came over to hang out and help us sing Happy Birthday to Jackson. He loved that too!
